Catherine Klein, DVM

Greetings! My name is Dr. Catherine Klein and it was an honor to be asked to join VIDAS on their most recent journey to Akumal in July. I graduated from Cornell University in 1987 and practiced small animal medicine and surgery for fourteen years before deciding to take a three-year sabbatical and return to school. I will receive my J.D. and Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2004. I plan to use my law degree and work in animal ethics to address the many animal welfare issues that continue to challenge our society.
The dedication, compassion and energy of the incredible group of veterinary students, technicians and volunteers who worked together to make the July clinic such a huge success was inspiring. I remain impressed by my friend, Dr. Lisa McCarthy, who worked tirelessly to provide free veterinary services to the many dogs and cats successfully treated in Akumal. I look forward to participating in future clinics and assisting in the continued success of VIDAS.
