Welcome to VIDAS
Tulee from Tulum
Tulee Jan McHugh
When I met Tulee she was a tiny pup, barely a month old. She was small enough to fit into a tube sock with four holes cut in it for her legs. She needed the sock to keep warm as most of her fur had fallen out --she was very sick and malnourished. The fleas lived in the little fur that was left and her ears were filled with mites. She had been found in the jungle sitting next to the body of another pup that didn't survive. Two little boys from the village rescued her and brought her to the veterinary clinic for medical attention. The dedicated volunteer veterinarians went to work on saving her life; she was one sick puppy. Thanks to their skill, love and attention, Tulee began to recover and was brought back to the United States. Dr. Hick brought Tulee to work announcing her breed as a "Mayan Jungle Puppy". I fell in love with Tulee immediately and was thrilled to have her become a part of my family. Everyday Tulee brings joy to my family and me. Many thanks to the VIDAS volunteers for their dedication to saving the lives of animals.
